Default dragon/bullet goby dead

I bought a dragon/bullet goby last night. I brought him straight home and did a drip acclimation for a little over 45 minutes. This morning he was dead. My water params are ammonia, nitrates, nitrites all 0, ph 8.4. SG is 1.026. temp 76.8F. I have two other fish in the tank, a cleaner shrimp, two snails, and 10-15 small hermits. They are all fine. Its safe to assume i got a fish on his way out correct?

Why didnt you buy the fish and leave him at the LFS for a week before pickup?

Im just thinking out loud here: Its a lot of work to add fish. It cost money in gas, time, and the cost of the fish. Every card in your hand must be played to insure a healthy happy fish goes into the DT. And sometimes...that isnt enough.

Welcome to salt.

Sorry for the loss.
