Default RO/DI for drinking

My mom hates our water, so she wants to steal my RO/DI water from time to time when i get it set up. I read somewhere that if your going to do this then it should be diverted after the RO so that the water doesnt go through DI. Is this necessary? If it is...why?

I have the DI part diverted from the RO. I have heard that you just don't get some of the minerals if you drink ro/di. Some say it is unhealthy. My opinion is as long as you are drinking water that is healthy enough considering how little we drink (water) compared to what we should.

drink, drink, drink, water is so important to the human body. as far as drinking your RO/DI do it!! there are many additives that are federally monitored for health reasons like fluorine but as long as you brush your teeth regularly you should be OK. as far as coffee goes, must be a personal preference cuz my tap water sux for coffee and my R/O is great.

I have heard the same thing. I was watching the discovery channel and they were saying this. I wouldnt drink it on a regular basis. Just go to home depot and get a tap water filter.

Worse than McDonald's coffee? That stuff will take off your enamel plus stomach lining.
