can you have a powerfilter go with your protien skimmer with some powerheads.for a 65gl tank. like a AC 110 filter

I do not have a reef tank but I know the reefers will recommend live rock, live sand, protein skimmer, refugium, and macroalgae.

All of that being said, you might not need all of that for easier corals. Hopefully someone else will chime in here.

I use 2 of them but I have a fish, live rock, and invert tank. No corals.

I always have a canister filter hooked up to all of my tanks with various media inside them.

I'm starting next mth on my 65gl high and I'm going have it as a reef tank you know something a little easier..Like soft corals inverbrates,,feathers dusters etc. etc.

About once every 6months, clean out the filters, physically remove it from the tank, dump it out, scrub it out. If you're using something biological in it, dont clean that, keep it moist while cleaning the filter though.

carbon is for chemical filtration, which needs to be changed every 2-4 weeks depending on bioload.

your tank is a 65g, get a filter good for 100-150g, do the same with the skimmer. Also get a good test kit.
