Default too much filtration?

Hello,
I am thinking of taking down my 120 I just set up because I just don't have the room for it. so what I was thinking is taking everything from my 120 and using it on my sea-clear tank. its about 60 gallons. my question is:

I know there is no such thing as too much filtration but would it be over kill to run that big of a system on such a small tank?

I have the
CPR CS90 600 GPH overflow
CPR CY192 sump
Lifegard af-94 mechanical filter
Lifegard af-92 heater module
Lifegard ql-8 UV sterilizer
75 lbs of live sand
60 lbs of live rock

what I was thinking of doing is pumping the water out of the 120 to fill the other because its parameters are perfect right now, adding my rock, and then sand.
I should not have to worry about cycling the tank or anything right?
because the tank everything is coming out of is already established.

does this sound like it would work?

I'm not a fan of mechanical filters for saltwater tanks, but that aside, I think the the items and quantities that you listed are better suited for a 60 gal reef tank than a 120 gal tank, unless they are the double or triple module versions.

Yes, it sounds like it should work. You will have a mini cycle while changing to the new tank so you'll want to do 1-2 water changes within the first 7-10 days. When moving the sand (not recommended) try to keep the top 1" of sand in the current tank and using the sand as the top layer again in the new tank. Since the substrate is where the majority of the non-water borne contaminants end up, I never like reusing any more than I have to and try to get new sand in it's place.

its kinda funny you say that about the mechanical filter because I broke the pressure gauge on it anyway so I cant run it anyway... and the UV I have inline just not turned on..
I didnt think it would be a problem just wanted some other opinions bfore I got started..

8w of Uv should be ok I would just try Ying off the line so you have a lower flow going though it.
