Default diatom algae problem

Ok so i just had my lights off for 3 days to get rid of this diatom bloom from adding the live sand. I had the lights on for one day and it was back. I think the water im using is part of the problem. My RO/DI unit came yesterday and I will have it running tonight so from now on ill be using that. My question is, what can i do to rid the tank of the problem?

It's natural and will run its course. There are worse algaes to worry about.

If it makes you feel any better I started my rebuild in August - just now feel like it's ready for fish!! The diatoms will go away in about a week - once you see the green/hair algae start it might be time for a clean up crew...
