| New to the Hobby (Getting Started/Setting Up) Think you can upgrade to saltwater? Your probably very confused, but remember ask questions and you'll get your answers on here! |

 PHEW! thank god for GFI So in the beginning research i did before i set up my tank i read to install a GFI, so i did. I couldnt see how it was necessary. Well i also made a custom hood and made it so my light could slide back and forth on the overhangs on the ends so i could get around in the tank. Well i went to move my temp probe and as i was pulling my arm out i hit the lights just right so that one end fell in, of course i tried to catch it and did, i kept it from really going in, but it tripped the GFI. I presume this saved not only my fish and equipment but me as well. So I must throw this out there to newbs, USE A GFI, just in case... oh and I decided that now my custom hood is useless because i used the mounting brackets the light came with and it doesnt fit over the light now.  |

| Re: PHEW! thank god for GFI It is a cheap piece of equipment. I bought my GFIs at Lowes, though. Not as expensive.
