Default Help with MIGHTY MITE RO/DI

So i got it all hooked up and started running it. At first water was only coming out of the drain line, not the product line and it was coming out fast. Now theres water coming out of both but the drain line is spitting out water really fast still. What can i do?

There will be a lot more waste water than good water.

as far as ease of setting up, definately. Because today is the first day of actually running it and i thought there was a problem, i cant give a review based on performance.

Works for me. Better than what you can buy in gallon jugs at the store. When in a fix, I bought distilled. I tested with a TDS one day...40ppm. Better than my tap but still. I decided I will have no more fixes and it will be my water. Period. Yeah there is waste water. I use mine to water my plants. Some here use it for laundry.

ok i think im getting alot more waste than im supposed to. I had a gallon in minutes, and not even a measureable amount of product water. I tee'd a line off of the line that goes to my faucet, could that be too much pressure? On the plus note, 0ppm on the water thats coming out of the product line! Its down to 47 before DI and 0 after DI.

I think the 4 to 1 is based on water temp around 75 to 80 this can go up this time of year.

ok, waist water, do you guys have something to measure it with? Becky said she uses it to water plats, does that mean you leave it running on a bucket or tank and then test for waist water?

i dont think you would need to test it, if you water your plants with your tap water, then it would be fine after that to. my problem is it comes out so fast, i mean itll fill a gallon bucket in minutes.

yeah, I think they all make more waste water when the membranes are all new. Temp and water pressure have alot to do with how much good water it will produce, not sure if it affects the good/waste ratio though.

mario, now i can tell you that i would def recommend this to someone who only needs a couple gallons a day. Im making a gallon in about 25 minutes, and i know for sure my water temp is COLD. It comes straight off a main line from the city and im in CT so its cold here.

I will probably be getting a new unit by the summer. I looked at that link mario, nice stuff! I may end up going with one of those. With a 55g with 20g sump, 20g frag tank and a 40g seagrass tank I will need a lot of gpd.
