Default new fish in quarantine

Today I bought a Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish and put him in a 55 gallon QT tank all by himself. I did not freshwater dip him. He looks healthy. Would you add any medicine as a preventative measure?

No. I would leave him be unless he gets sick.

How long would you leave him in QT.

I'll try this one! The lifecycle of most parasites/diseases is 4 - 6 weeks. Seems like a long time, but if you get disease in a tank that you can not treat with meds, you can be looking at leaving a tank fallow for up to 6 months to make sure the tank is free of parasites....
