Default Live Rock Purchase

I am new here and would appreciate some opinions. I am going to take the plunge and start a 24g aquapod reef tank. I have been looking to purchase LR online and came across a site REEFERMADNESS and the rock selection looks nice. I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with them. If not I would appreciate some suggestions on where to find nice live rock.

I am pretty sure that LiveAquaria.com carries it and alot of the time they run a special where if you order over 100 dollars then you get free shipping. I don't know if that works for LR but that is what i was planning on doing. It would be cheaper than MrMarine if there was a big order, and they usually are from what i hear.

I looked at that site, as well as others and I am not really impressed with the prices. most of the stuff these places sell are the same price as the local stores. I guess if you didn't have any stores in your area it would make sense to buy online but from what I can see the online stores have the same prices as my local stores and you would still have to pay shipping and not have the benefit of seeing what you are buying before you buy.. I would buy locally.. just my 2 cents

Jim would you not have bought your rock had it been local....even though they sell the same stuff on the Tampa site. I loved your rock and would probably use them instead of wholesaleaquatics who I was going to use to begin with but your rock is just awesome. Do you think it's worth the money?

well the way I figured it for me to order from Tampa. up to 100 lbs would cost 60 bucks in shipping so it is actually cheaper for me to take advantage of my local stores buying power. by the time I paid shipping it would have cost me well over the 11 bucks a pound I paid. and I get to cherry pick the rocks I want. If i were to buy direct from Tampa, no guarantee that I get as much life on the rocks. at least at the local store I can see what I am buying before I buy...
make sense?

Ya I'd like to see it .. I saw that site it looked nice but what kind of rock was it? isen't coralline a type of alge?
The easyest way to do the pics is to go to photobucket.com and upload them there. then slect them from the album using the last chose of file types i think its img.. or something like that.. and then paste it in..

The guy at LAX doesnt have any shipping charges. You pay the frieght bill at the airport when you pick it up.And picking it up at the airport cuts at least one day off the shipping time, maybe 2.

Anywhere from 50 cents to 2 dollars a pound. When you call for the rock they can give you a ball park rate.
