Default Sebae Anemone Tragedy

Ok so i have had this anemone for two days, i actually posted a thread about hosting and whatnot, but it was doing really well, i had a domino damsel host in it for a little while, but i just woke up and the thing is sucked into the filter, most of it is outside but some of it got sucked unto the tube...are there any chances it is still alive? any way to salvage it? i tried pulling it out but it is really jammed in there. any help would be awesome! Thanks!

I had this happen years ago, I turned off the pump and pulled him out. and it survived. may be ok but get it out with as little force as possible. mine was a brown carpet anemone and it pulled thru ok.

I had the same problem with a large RBTA, it got sucked into my koralia 4 three times so far, the first two times I was home and got him right out and he was ok, this last time happened while I was at work and it has been laying on the sand for 3 days. It did eat a whole silverside yesterday, cut up in small pieces. I had moved some rock around and repositioned the power heads, I guess that is what started his wandering.

It may survive, but you need to make sure that your water parameters and lighting are perfect. If it's injured and not happy, their is a good chance it won't make it.

This should be a lesson for everyone that has anemones - they do wander, esp. for the first week or two after adding them to a tank so make sure that your pump inlets are all covered so the anemone can't get sucked into it.
