Default seaclone GPH

i have a seaclone 100 that im going to be working into my My DIY HOB refugium/sump. Heres my problem. Im going to cut up an aquaclear filter i have lying around that i got for free. Does it matter if more water goes through the chamber per hour than the skimmer clears, cus it says in the directions that when running optimally, which i think it is, it will flow at 50 gph. I think its a aquaclear 110. which will flow minimal 300 i think. max is like 500. I do have an aquaclear 50 i can use for a bit lower flow but id rather not cus i already cut up the other one!
