I have a 55 gallon sea clear tube aquarium I am planning on using as a grow out tank. I pretty much set it up with all of my left over stuff I have had through the years. I have read everywhere that crushed coral sucks as a substrate. well I have about 80 lbs of it.. if this tank is intended as a fish only tank will I run into problems with the crushed coral substrate? I just cant bring myself to get rid of about 200 bucks worth of substrate. I am going to try and breed my perculas and use this tank to grow them out. yes I do have multiple 10 and 20 gallon tanks to raise the fry until they are ready for the large tank. any thoughts on this?

Personally I wouldn't use it. Problem you'll have is that since cc has a large particle size, detritus will find its' way into the bed and you'll end up having nitrate problems. Think of a freshwater tank with an undergravel filter - you know how the gravel bed gets all built up with that crud - same thing happens with cc.
