Icon7 Condy and Clown? Condy diet? LFS guy is DEAD.

So again I trust someone's advice and end up screwed!
Got a Condy anemone at LFS....he sold me Phytoplex to feed it. First off, I have a maroon clown. As far as I've read, this mix is no good. And condys don't eat phytoplex, do they? Everything I've read says meaty foods!
Any suggestions? Keep/ return? Food for this guy?
I'm calling this guy out tomorrow. How irresponsible to sell me stuff so it can just die in my tank! I'm so pissed off! If you don't know say I don't know! Don't act like you know and tell me false info. I know I should've researched it. Fine I take some responsibility. But don't guide me when you don't know!!

FYI - Usually you'd feed an anemone silversides or mysis shrimp. Definitely not phytoplex. Thanksfully, condis are easy to keep, but they have a stronger sting to fish. Sometimes, a clown will host in a condi, but that isn't the norm.

BTW - As you've now learned, be VERY careful who you trust at a LFS. They make money by selling items, and even if they are trying to do the right thing and give good info, more of them don't know how to create/equip/stock a reef tank so that it will be successful for the long haul.

You need to learn not to go to the LFS store to buy "willy nilly". If you know what you want you can properly research before purchasing. The times that I have just walked to buy just whatever, I also took an ID book, like Shimek, with me. I try not to ask the LFS any questions, and in the event that I have, I took that answer home with me to do research before purchasing. Around here, the LFS gets the same stock over and over. If it turns out that I could have bought something the last time I was there, chances are I will be able to get a hold of it again in a month. Do not rush to get livestock.

First off clowns will rarely go into condilactis unless it extremely threatened. And second maroons prefer bubble tip anyways, that would have been your proper purchase if it were available.take the condy back and try switch out,or get full credit ,or the usual wholesale credit that lfs usually give to people who took theyre advice in the first place.good luck.

I love the lfs that I go to now. They will readily pull a book out for you to take a look at what you are getting into. It is great in those instances when they happen to have something that catches your eye that you weren't planning on getting when you walked in.
