Default HELP!! two dead fish in two days

i have a 55 gallon setup with 45lbs of live rock . there was a false percula, a yellow tang and a damsel(idk what it is). i use RO/DI water for every thing. ive had the tank setup since august
parameters are
ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0
chlorine - 0
saliniity- 1.025
pH - 8.3

two days ago i was looking around and i couldnt find my damsel. i forgot about it thinking it was inside the rock cave. my clwon and tang were doing fine. then yesterday, i still couldnt find the damsel so i started to move around the rock and i found a half decomposed damsel im thinking it got stuck in the rock and couldnt get out. i tested everything and it came out fine. then this morning i found teh same clown that was doing fine yesterday dead stuck in the powerhead. im confused as to what happened. i have a slight algea problem but nothing too serious. any suggestions as too what happened. idk if this stuff happened just by luck but im thinking its something more. any help would be great

did you retest after you found the dead damsel? Any signs of them fighting, disease or loss of color?

You might want to take your water to the LFS and have them test it. You might have a bad test solution, I did and lost shrimp and fish before finding this out. Just a suggestion. My testing stuff was also new at the time; just had a bad pH test solution.

Also, you and I have the same size tank I can remember mine cycling a second time during the 3rd month! So that could be what happened.... I would also test your test kits for ammonia, nitrate and ph to make sure they're accurate.

My advice though (and you'll get better probably from more experienced reefers!) be patient, 3 months is still 'baby' for a reef! I only have a clean up crew and lawnmower blenny and I got the latter when my tank turned almost 5 months old. And I have only 2 more fish in QT now... I really think your tank probably cycled again though.... let us know what happens!

Good luck!
