I started my own thread since I highjacked one anyway,my tank is a 30g 36''x12''x12'' I think.Is the extreme pro t5 6x39w to big?I can't find the nova ext.t5 4x39w with the ind. reflectors.Where are you Nativevaman?

My my my Adam you do have a problem lol.First you need to check the measurements on that tank.The ones you gave are for a tank slightly over 20 gallons.The depth is critical.Check it and get back to me.

Have a look at this fixture.It doesnt have moon lights.They will give you 5.2 watts and at that shallow depth you can keep clams.You should be able to find decent moonlights for under 30$'s.

I like the system,but(there is always a but)it doesn't come with bulbs.I know little to nothing about 20k,10k.....its greek.anyone got a link that explains?thanks for the assistance Nativevaman.

Why can't I order the 6x39w ficture and just take out 2 bulbs?Then if I upgrade as long as my tank is 36'' I'm good.

That may work, i dont know if there would be a negative on the slots though because i would assume you are still running electricity through them.

Does anyone know anything about the aqua medic ocean light t5s?What kind of workmanship,Do they have ind. reflectors,ect.....anythi ng?

I dont think they have individual reflectors. Oceanlight T5 - T5 flourescent with internal electronic ballast - Aqua Medic

More than likely you can turn off two bulbs anyway as part of the dusk dawn feature.As far as leaving out two bulbs would depend on how its wired.The best thing to do would be call the manufacturer and see what they say.I am sure they will be happy to answer.
