| That marine book is still a great read, I suggest you read it. Many books are older like that, which is why you go to RB to get the most recent information, etc. 50/50 means half of the lights are actnic's and the rest are day lights. Actnic's are a special type of light in a certain spectrum for corals. It simulates the deep water of ocean reefs, as if light that is going thru several feet of water. A must for some types of corals. |

| I am going to read the Conscientist Aquarist but I also found a couple of newer books specifically directed at nano reefs...Have you heard anything or have an opinion on the Nano Reef Handbook by Brightwell or the Simple Guide to Mini Reef Aquariums by Kurtz? those look to be the most recent on the subject |
