Icon14 tunze wave box what do you think?

I have a 220 gallon tank that i stripped and resealed myself about a year ago , I have now gone to a reef and im thinking of buying a tunze wave box . My question is do you think that it will be ok since i sealed it my self or do you think it will bust the seal ? I have about 140 pounds of LR and three MJ 1200 and no corals as i would like to do it the right way and take my time and not lose anything by not having the right equiptment. I have about 900 watts of light but i think I have it to high off the water , about 24 inches. My pumps are two mag 1200 and a life reef skimmer and my fuge is a 55 g , any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. thanks first post.

I dont know, what you could do is reinforce it somehow. That is pretty much your call though. If you want to see how it will do set it in a garage or something and run the wavemaker for about a week. If it holds up then it may atleast make you feel better. If you are worried about it then look into a new tank if the funds are there. No one here is going to know how the seals were done though so i donbt you will get a definite answer.

I would recommend 2 ecotech marine vortech pumps. Checkout melevesreef.com for a review and video.

Well that changes that idea then. I dont think you would need a wavemaker, a few good powerheads and you should be good to go.

Actually a wave box is better then the Vortech, it will make your corals happier.

I would tend to disagree with that assersion. A wavebox will give you a undertow and make waves, but the vortech does that and more. You can have a reefcrest mode, lagoon mode, pulse mode, or custom a wave pattern in your tank. Can a wave box do that ?
