Default need to add some life to my live sand

hi folks i need/want to add some life to my live sand. i don't see as many pods/critters in my tank as i would like to. the last tank i started was swarming with pods and critters after only a few months; this tank is almost a year old with a refugium and i still don't see much going on. it's a 55 gal with about 75lbs of lr and a 1" sandbed. I want to add some life to the sandbed and was checking out coraldynamics.com
they have some sand you can purchase from their system that they claim has critters in it. does anyone have any experience with this company?

I would just add 3 inch's of sand.that will be deep enough to keep your critter level high. And with that much sand you get some denitrification as well.

If you have a fuge then I would add the GARF grundge or some kind of "mud" to that. Me trying to do everything would also add the sand to the DT (display tank)...but I think you'd be good at just doing one or the other..just giving you opinions on both.

I love GARG grunge, lots of critters, even brittle stars!

It would probably be best to add a few more inches of sand and then ''seed'' the sand with the grunge.I would add the sand a little at a time to help prevent algae blooms.Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
