| New to the Hobby (Getting Started/Setting Up) Think you can upgrade to saltwater? Your probably very confused, but remember ask questions and you'll get your answers on here! |

 skimmer question If my overflow has a prefilter, should i just remove the the prefilter from my skimmer pump?  |

| Re: skimmer question I don't like prefilters and I don't use them on anything so I think you can guess my answer. Pumps can handle anything that is floating in the water that would have got caught by the prefilter. Don't remove the intake grate though.

| Re: skimmer question I took mine off my overflow, it's just one less thing to clean. I do still have a sponge on my riser tube. |
