| Petsolutions.com has fiji live rock for about $2/lb (45lbs for 89.99). I don't know how much shipping is. Also, Drs Foster & Smith's website may have pretty good prices (they seem to be a pretty reputable vendor). If you have time to wait you can do what I did. I ordered a 50lb box of reef rock from petsolutions.com for 59.99 + $9.99 shipping. Then I bought 20lbs of live frag rock from the lfs at $3.99/lb and over the course of a few months they are all live rocks. So, if you have the time to wait, it is much cheaper. Plus, the rocks come in large, medium, and small pieces for better aquascaping. Just an idea for economical live rock in the long run. |

| I have used the live rock/base rock combination approach before, and it works. Just be sure to recognize that it may take longer for the bacteria to colonize the base rock. Also, you can increase your biological filtartion capability in the short term (or with less live rock) by using a fluidized bed filter.
