ive been searching for live rock on the internet a alot of places selling for about 4-5 dollars a pound and some places selling for about $1.99 a pound, anyone know of a good site where i can by Fiji cured LR for cheap.. say around 2 dollars a pound?

Maybe ebay. Sometimes you get what you pay for so be careful.

hey i have a friend in the business and Im buying a 50 pound box of tonga branch this week. I dont need all of it so would you be interested in some of it?? I'll sell it to you for 2.75 LB. Branch goes for 6.99 at my LFS

Petsolutions.com has fiji live rock for about $2/lb (45lbs for 89.99). I don't know how much shipping is. Also, Drs Foster & Smith's website may have pretty good prices (they seem to be a pretty reputable vendor).

If you have time to wait you can do what I did. I ordered a 50lb box of reef rock from petsolutions.com for 59.99 + $9.99 shipping. Then I bought 20lbs of live frag rock from the lfs at $3.99/lb and over the course of a few months they are all live rocks. So, if you have the time to wait, it is much cheaper. Plus, the rocks come in large, medium, and small pieces for better aquascaping. Just an idea for economical live rock in the long run.

i just bought 50 lbs from mrmarine on ebay.. i heard a bad story from him from someone on here but i read alot of his feedback and everyone swaers by him that his rock is good.. i paid $150.00 includeing shiping.. so well see in a few days how it goes..

I have used the live rock/base rock combination approach before, and it works. Just be sure to recognize that it may take longer for the bacteria to colonize the base rock. Also, you can increase your biological filtartion capability in the short term (or with less live rock) by using a fluidized bed filter. If you're interested, check out some of these articles:
