Default emerald crab doesnt move much

In my 75G tank, I have had an Emerald crab for months now. He climbs and moves around everywhere. I started getting a problem with red slime. Couldnt kick it so I dosed with the red slime remover. I started to get nervious to the next day I did a 45% water change and cleaned off all the rocks. Well 1-2 weeks later it has been fine. All fish and feather dusters, hermits are good. Amonia, Nitritate,Ph is good. The Emerald crab isnt. For 3 days I noticed he didnt move from one spot. I took him out and was going to flush him then seen him move a leg. So I put him in my nano tank by himself. I am wondering if he somehow got crushed when I was moving the rocks around. He has been in the nano for 5 days. He hardly moves. In the morning he will be in the same spot he was at night. Then throughout the day he may move 2-5 inches away. When he moves it is very slow. Mini arms by his mouth seem to be moving but claws--not really. The claws get in wierd positions sometimes making me think they were crushed but then I will see them move a tiny bit.. Any ideas?

You've learned a valuable lesson about adding "stuff" to your aquarium. Lots of things are labeled "safe for marine aquariums," but you really need to read the fine print. Inverts are very environmentally sensative creatures and don't tolerate rapid changes in their environment.

Red slime (cyanobacteria/blue-green algae) usually results from increased "nutrients" in the aquarium, mainly nitrates and phosphates. Most of us get outbreaks from time to time. The best way to beat it is with scavengers like certain species of crabs and snails, not chemicals or antibiotics.

I hope your little guy survives. LOL
