is it legal to harvest live rock as long as you were going to cure it yourself?

It all depends on where you live and how you are doing it. That is something that you would want to ask the people that would get you in trouble for it. I am sure somewhere, somehow it is legal but you are better off asking the right people. Maybe someone here knows though, so where do you plan on doing this? And depending on if you are allowed, what kind, and your price I may be interested...lol

In the continental US it is ilegal to collect live rock coral or sand for any reason from any place.The same is true with many countries that have reefs.In Australia you would rather get caught commiting murder.Some counties will give you license to collect,bring your first born lol.

yea, i live in florida, so i could take my pick of places to gather live rock... Im going to contact the florida wildlife commission and see what they say because who knows. I dont even have my tank yet, im just looking into alternative methods instead of paying 10 $ for a rock... I have never had a saltwater tank But i did have a freshwater tank when i was younger and i have a beta now =) (im in college, room and funds are short)

in florida they will not let you you can not even harvest live rock in florida any more you have to go out in to fedaral waters off the coast
