I am cycling my tank and just added a few new rocks and noticed some type of stemmed polyp looking thing with long fingers. It is solid brown and there are several on the two new pieces of rock. I tried to download a picture but it wouldn't take. Does this sound familiar?

Yes It sure dose no one can get a pic on this site on the first couple tries.

As for the pics try this.

Just load your pics on photobucket then Click on the words IMG code you will see a yellow box flash copied then when posting just paste it in the body of your post. If you want to put up more then one pic it is best to open your web browser twice so you can jump back and forth between the two sites.
You can also share them with your Friends and family ether by linking to the hole album or individual pics.

That looks like what it is. I plan on adding a few hermits and some peppermint shrimp as soon as my new tank cycle finishes. Will they take care of business? I'm probably not adding any coral anytime soon so as long as my fish (upcoming) are OK, I'm not in any big hurry yet. They actually kinda look nice swaying in my empty tank right now

Peppermint shrimp got rid of mine. There are a lot of other way's inject with Hot water or lemon juice are a couple. They spread so you don't want to leave them to long.
