Default nudibranch, keep it, or no...

I am pretty sure what I found on one of my yellow polyps is a small nudibranch; two antanae, about 6 little soft tipped spikes on it's back and the shape of a slug. I'm assuming for now that I do NOT want him in my tank due to where I found him, crawling on a stressed yellow polyp that was closed and skinny.

Also, I'm betting I need to get a good dip for my coral; apparantly I have some flat worms (i think, going to post pics on identification in a minute to be sure) on the piece of rubble those yellow polyps came on. Any suggestions for a good dip? Will my cleaner shrimp eat the flat worms?...

Nudibranchs (Sea Slugs) are obligate feeders, aka their food source usually consists of a group or even one specific species. If you found this little guy on one of your polyps, there's a really good chance that these polyps are its food source. I'd show him the toilet.

Flatworms are another problem. From what I've read about them, they can infect your reef. I don't think shrimp eat them, but there are a few fishes which do. Calfo & Fenner's Reef Invertebrates state that they can be a nuisance rather than a plague. On the other hand, they cover corals and other inverts, depriving them of waterflow, nutrients and light. IMHO, they're pests and you should get rid of them. There are some fishes that eat them -- Leopard Wrasse M meleagris, Yellow Breasted Wrasse A. twistii, Golden/Canary Wrasse H chrysis, and several of the Valenciennea Sleeper gobies.

I've not had any experience using "dips." I believe that quarantine is the best answer in the future.

Ok, thanks so much! I got a couple of the flatworms and the nudibranch out of the tank by turkey baster... I'm hoping to get the rest of them tonight after I get a dip for the rock as well. I've had the six line wrasse on my list of fish to get so I'm going to try to keep these things at bay as long as possible. Or, I know there's something made by salifert that kills only the flatworms in the tank, just have to syphon them off as they die before they get too much toxins in the water but, for now there's only a handful of them so, I'm keeping an eye on them.

Thanks for all the info! Very helpful! Can't wait for my water change day to get those bubbles out!
