Icon14 moving and moving my tank....

so i have a small 28 gallon tank.....im moving not to far two blocks away from where i am at now into an apartment complex. im on the 1st floor so there is no worries there. ive got 4 fish in there and i just established my tank ive also got 28lbs of live rock and coral. what im wondering is how do you suggest i move my tank. empty out all my water into buckets? then hall it all over there? its really not that far....literally 2 blocks. my tank is looking like this right now.



please help! any sugestions would be greatly appreciated!

take out all the water in the tank and also all the rock just use a bunch of buckets or ruber made totes

I agree with patrick - buckets and/or totes. Don't try to move the tank with water, rock, etc in it; the tank will break or crack.

I third it! haha.

Get tupperware bins or however you spell it. Or 5 gallon buckets, and start a assembly line of people to pass them down . That honestly will be your best way to do it. And you will get a chance to re "aquascape" your rocks if you wanted to. I do not suggest moving the tank with any water or lr/ls in it. You will be at a high risk of breaking it.

I agree with the others. Another thing you might want to get is a battery operated air pump w/air stone to keep your animals well oxygenated during the move. Also, a small heater would be good to keep the water at a steady temperature.

If you wanted to do a 5 gallon water change, if you do those weekly or monthly or whatever, that would probably be a good time I am assuming. It will just save you 1 five gallon bucket.

well i got my tank all setup in my new apt. the fish survived!
