Default seachem iodine test kit

Ok, maybe I'm totally clueless, this test seems simple enough. But I am stumped! Step 3 says to add a pipepette of sample to the test tray, I can not figure out what the 'sample' is! Is it the tiny bottle of Iodine Reference?.....

Help please! I can finally test for iodine but, still can't because of this 'sample'!
