Icon8 Is something dead in there?

I haven't seen my 2 snails that spend most of their time under the sand for about a week now and normally I see them every couple of days. At the same time I'm having the worst time with a cynao break out! I'm doing a 50% water change tonight, is it too much to take out the LR and sift around to see if there is a dead snail at the root?

If there are dead snails under your sand then they wont also be under the rock. Also if they are burried under the sand the release of nitrates or other polutants would be very slow.I would say look for another cause.
