| I keep mine open because it lets the tank breathe. Also at first I had my tank covered when I first started but had problems keeping my temp. at the right level. Does your set up have mounting legs or a way to suspend the lights above the tank so it isn't just set right onto the tank? |

| Is nova extreme the same as current? If so the legs are VERY flimsy, I use both t5ho and cf. My 75g I keep glass lids on, my 55g has a canopy so I don't. Manufacturer warn because salt and water will/may come into contact w/ the fixture/bulbs. can cause a shock. |
