| Get those fish out of your tank! Put them in a quarantine tank and medicate them asap. I've heard a ton of different tx options, but i've never personally encountered ich (knock on wood). I would just suggest whatever you do it doesn't involve copper. |

| certian suplements will negate meds for ich, one being copper, i think iron and even purple-up. if its that bad though just keep your fingers crossed, i've never dealt with a sick salt fish. freshwater had several problems and it was a pain.

| Sorry to hear about your problems. I have battled ick before -- its not a fun battle. There are lots of controversy in reguards on how fish get sick and how to cure them. Copper is a poison, to the fish and also the parasite (the ick) -- the parasites just happen to die first. You can also try hyposalinity but becareful with both of these treatments because if you overdose copper you can kill a fish quite quickly. I finally cured my ick by getting a very powerful UV serilizer, feeding lots of protien rich food soaked in zoe/garlic. You need to also figure out whats (if anything) is causing the fish stress (a bully) Have you checked your water parameters lately? Sorry for your losses. Good luck. |

| I am an ich expert! Experience is everything. Every time I would add a fish it seemed Ich would affect the fish. Kick Ich is the answer for me. Your fish may be too far gone but remember it for the future. I now do a Hydroplex dip for 10 minutes on new fish. I prophylactically treat with kick ich one dose and watch very carefully. This product is safe to use with corals fish invertebrates etc. Sometimes you don't see spots. You may notice a fish gets more gray kinda pale looking or you might notice they smack themselves on rocks. Another solution I was given by my lfs is to have 2 heaters . Any flux in temps will cause stress. I do not have a quaranteen tank. I don't have the room or the patience to handle 2 tanks. PS how does anyone recommend getting your fish out of there. I have never been able to catch a fish with all the live rock catching on everything. Guess this is a suggestion pertinent to those with small tanks. Hope this helps. I have lots of problems and few solutions, but I haven't had ich since I started doing the above. |
