Default Strange hermit crabs.....

Hello,
I just recently posted about my new tank and I was suggested to get some hermit crabs and snails to help with cycling. I did, along with a nice piece or coraline covered rock.

This morning, when I went to check out my tank, I saw the oddest thing. Two of my hermit crabs appeared to "fighting." then they pulled their shells together for awhile..... then the strangest thing happened, they exchanged shells? hah! were they mating? or was this just something very odd?

Just curious, as these are the only visable living things I have in my tank right now.

Also, my "black snails" seems to be doing great, as where my "white snails" barely ever move. Is something wrong with them? I hope not

Hey ross, I see my crabs doing things like that. They kind of have a pecking order and if one wants another's shell it will pull the other out and then the one pulled out needs a shell quick! Yours is funny in that they just exchanged. Sometimes the one will kill the other to get his shell. Make sure you but some different size shells from lfs (empty) and put them in your tank. As they grow they need bigger shells to house them.
