can someone explain to me what the added stages are? DI and i dunno what the next is called

The stages go as:

Pre-filter
Sediment filter
Carbon Block
RO membrane
Deionization (DI)
Carbon (Taste) filter

Some systems may have multiple stages for certain parts or skip a couple stages.

yeash! i only got a thee stage, 6 micron, 1 micron, r/o membrane.

did i screw up buying this???

TDS = Total Desolved Solids. This is a measure of the purity of the water or actually what's left in the water after you've run it through the purification process. No system totally removes all the dissolved salts short of doing a distillation process.
