Icon13 Keeping and transporting live rock

Hi, I'm a college student currently on spring break. I'm at home right now, 6 hours away from college. I have a cycling tank back at my apartment. It's about 2 weeks in. I want to buy some live rock while at home as it is cheaper. However, i will only be returning in 4-5 days. What is the best way to keep the live rock, if possible at all. I have read that wrapping it in newspaper soaked in salt water is effective, but for how long? note, i don't have a heater or powerheads at my disposal, nor can i afford to buy extras right now. Is this worthwhile, or will it just die off? What would be the best way to transport? I have read that coolers are effective, but how much water, newspaper, etc. Please help me soon as i need to know whether to buy or not. Thanks!

you can get either a big ice chest, or round tub, put you live rock in it with a power head, try to keep temp. stable, this should do fine till you get back

Remember, once you add the live rock to your tank it may recycle.

I transported live rock in a large cooler. It helped maintain the temperature and I had a pump running to circulate the water.
