Default brine shrimp

has any of you tried to colonize brine shrimp? i was thinking about hatching a few and trying to get them est. in my refugium. haven't seen any amphipods yet but copepods are about to block my view as they have exploded in my DT. apparently none of the fish i have like them very much. so i was thinking this would make a good supliment and export. never heard if they are hard to keep or anything really other than hatch and feed.

I dont think they are hard to keep... they make little kits for kids. i was thinking after i read this post if you could order them online from sea-monkeys.com because they have the food, vitamins and growth supplements they would need... well that your fish would need to make them even tastier!

Brine shimp -except when newly hatched, are poor nutritionally. If you want to culture something in your refugium and tank, go with copepods ('pods). You can buy them from liveaquaria.com to use to culture your tank.

Reef nutrition has a better deal on pods.

man i got copepods about to block out the glass... like an infestation, i guess my fish don't care for them. haven't seen any amphipods yet maybe they are eating them to fast or haven't gotten est. yet i dunno.

What kind of fish do you have? Mine go absolutely crazy when I do tank maintanance. I also feed frozen pods and it's their favorite.
