Default new tank setup..........

what up all? just got into the saltwater hobby. some feedback on my setup would be nice..... i have a 30 gallon glass oceanic aquarium and stand, 20 lbs of live sand, 15.45 lbs of live rock, 100 watt heater and an emperor 400 hundred filter.... just added 3 scarlet hermit crabs. how am i doing so far? any suggestions on a first fish for the aquarium? do i need to add some snails and a cleaner shrimp or two before the first fish or add with the first fish. also noticed once i had placed the live rock in and the water cleared up, that i had one orange looking catterpillar looking thing about 6" long and several smaller ones. any insight would be nice??? do i need to get rid of or keep them? sorry so many questions???? thanks for the help and insight in advance....
