Default Mixing different kinds of salt

Hi All,
I've been using Red Sea Salt for my aquarium. I've found other brands like Kent,
Seachem,
TROPIC MARIN,
Corallife, etc allot cheaper on ebay. I can get a 50 gal tub for the price of a 25 at my local store. Is there a problem mixing one brand of salt with another. Are their any stats on the quality of one brand of salt from another?

Thanks

Many brands to choose from and yes I think some are better than others. Several tests on the major salts have been posted here before and they are all a little different. Arguments about who conducted the test as well as how the salt was mixed and at what temp the water was is constantly batted back and forth. Its an endless discussion with no clear answer. (kinda like lights)

IMO Its not what salt you use but understanding the salt you choose. Some one has great water params with one brand while others say they do not. Find the brand you like and become one with it. Understand how a water change is going to affect your normal water params. When using different salts all the time you never get "used to it".

Strange as it may sound, any reefer thats been around for a while will tell you they have a "feel" for what is going on in their tank. If you keep changing salt trying to find the "best" one you loose some of that "feel".

If you want to use the salt up you have go ahead. Will not hurt anything. Then pick a major brand for whatever reason and stick to it. Become one with the salt

By the way Red Sea Coral pro gets some pretty good reviews. Are you happy with it?

Ditto on JimW369...with one addition...buy in quantity or have a "back-up brand" in case you can't get the brand you want.
