Here's my tank, newly set up on 4/14/08:

Here's my tank, after 90 pounds of Fiji rock added. I'm sure I'm going to rearrange the rocks. This is it for now, it's cycling.... Honestly, it looks way more pretty in the photo than in my living room. Must be the lighting (it's the light that came with the tank, no special t-5's or anything yet). I bought 80 pounds of fiji pink aragonite substrate, and will seed that with a couple pounds of live sand. I'll add that as soon as the water stabilizes. Any opinions???

looks good so far keep the pics coming! How much sand you gonna put in? You can always rearrange the rock depending on what your gonna put in there. I have redone mine several times to accommodate different critters.

Nice tank, I see you painted the back black, very good choice! Will make everything stand out.

Looks good so far, keep the pics coming as you progress.

Very nice I like your aquascaping. What kind of tank do you plan on having?

If you are going to add sand might as well do it now. Give the whole biofiltration critters time to multiply and inhabit everything at once. That is my opinion anyway.

I put in 80 pounds of Fiji pink. I've opted not to seed my sand with LS, so far, everything is just sitting and waiting. Now I know, this is the hardest part. Waiting, waiting, waiting.......

It was a personal choice, I liked they way black looked compared to blue. I've read the blue/black discussions. I ended up with what I liked. Plus, it hides the other black stuff stuck back there.

Right now, I'm sticking with FOWLR, until I'm more comfy with adding additional things. I've set things up to expand if I go that route. Like you all know, I'm really new at this, and you can read all about stuff, but you have to actually jump in and take the plunge. So, I did!

My worst fear is killing my livestock. I am trying to avoid it, and I know it's probably unavoidable, but, I'm striving for that goal. So, I'm doing baby steps.

I just love this site, love the input I get from everyone, and love the advice. I'm here for the long run, (it's only taken 4 years to make this decision) and some day down the road, I'm going to have the tank of the month!

I did just that, and now the waiting. My water is not ready, I test it every day, I'm still cycling.
