 I Broke the First Rule of reefkeeping. My tank is in my moms business, she has been working on an assets/liabilities sheet for her license renewal and wanted to know the tank value for her paperwork. I had to do a calculation on how much Ive spent on the tank in the last year  , oh well its only money  .

| Re: I Broke the First Rule The utilities on an old nursing home converted to an adult group home are so high anyway the tank costs get lost in the equation. The reef is at work, which is why she wanted the numbers for her assets/liablilities statement.

| Re: I Broke the First Rule I stopped calculating when I hit $1500....... On a 12 gallon nano.... My wife thinks it's such a pretty tank, but she'd have an aneurism that would paint the house if she knew. Funny thing is that she has agreed to the 120 build.... |

__________________ 40 gallon Reef with a 20 gallon high sump- One Yellow Wrasse, 2 Chromis, One Scooter Blenny, 5 Hermits, 3 Snails, 2 red foot snails, one Sand Sifting Tiger Starfish, and Corals- one frogs spawn coral, one Green striped and purple mushroom rock, one pink/tan mushroom frag, one hybrid mushroom rock, one Red mushroom, 2 differnt types of green star polyps, Two Cynarina corals, , one Fox coarl, one button polyp rock , one yellow scroll coral, one Big Orange Montipora capricornis, 13 Ricordea Mushrooms, One green Yuma, Two Blue Maxima clams , One Big Yellow Trumpet Coral, a Cabbage Leather Frag, Red Sea xiena (purple), Tan Xiena, one pink birds nest, one loco lobo leather coral, one Blastomussa Merletti, and one red lobo brain coral. Soon to hook up my CA reactor. |

"120 gallon starphire glass tank, $1100 Stand for the tank, $700 Pumps, sand, rock, refugium, salt, RO/DI units, heaters, test kits, additives, fish, corals, lighting system, chiller, protein skimmer and other essentials, $4000. Hearing your wife say "wow" and not "how much?" - PRICELESS" The 120 gallon is scheduled for April, 2009. The starting budget is $4500. Thank God I get a nice annual bonus.... |
