Default whats wrong with my ro/di water?

I'm confused and nervous. I got my ro system a few days ago. I have been filling my tank and I'm wondering if the water is supposed to be blue? When I put it in a white bucket and you can see a slight blueish tint. The water in the tank is not perfectly clear. I left a power head in there to circulate the water and it is not clearing it up. Anyone know about this or have any suggestions?

I fresh batch of saltwater may often have a slight bluish tint, esp. when comparing it to aged (yellowish) saltwater that gets removed from the tank during water changes. This bluish tint shouldn't be enough to notice when its inside of your tank unless you have a white background, but even then your lighting can make it appear more blue.

The first question that needs to be asked is - Do you have a TDS meter and what does it read?

I'm going to pick up a tds meter today or tomorrow. I'm just a little nervous about transferring everything over. Do you think it is ok? I plan on adding my existing 55g that has been up and running for about 2 years.

On my captive purity RO/DI unit, I have a dual TDS meter currently connected to the inlet and outlet of my DI filter. Both readings are "0". Does this mean my DI filter isn't really doing anything? My waste water tests at 85.

You are gonna have to test it to really be safe.

Yeah what Pogo says.

Water is already at 0 TDS when it reaches your DI unit. You really dont need that for your tank. Just R/O water. Thats why it reads 0 on both sides of the DI filter.

85 is a reasonably good number for waste water. Your water is pretty good even before going thru the R/O unit! Keep using it though!

Transfer critters over slowly. Dont want to overload the tank too fast.
