Default Emergency!!! Need help!

I just had my nanotank get a fan slammed into leaving a hole and crack all the way down the tank. (It was 10 gal) I got a new tank from walmart and 10gal of water, and now I need instructions on what to do with my rock and my sand and my snails and my pepperment shrimp.

Help ASAP!!

Is there any water from your tank lrft? If so put your critters in there for now.

Good luck. Sorry about the accident.

Yes there is still water in the tank about 4 inches left and it is holding at 71 degrees I just dont know if I can reuse any of the sand because without bacteria the next tank is doomed or if I just go glass bottom or what the hell I do im lost.

No fish or corals? If just the shrimp and snails you are ok for a day or 2 but the temp needs to come up a little. Critters are prob ok yet but dont let the temp go any lower. Might wanna take them back to the LFS for a little while till you get another tank up and running using your old sand.

I only have one heater and I am using it on the new tank. Crap this isnt good. Would the live rock provide sufficient bacteria to take care of them until tomorrow? There isnt enough water to do anything and it is leaking as we speak.

if the live rock is covered in water yes....... if not then I would see about a clean 5 gallon bucket and it wont hurt anything for it to be in newly mixed water either

Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?
