| if you post a pic it would be easier to tell. are they orange with white hairs on its side or are they completely orange? they could be bristle worms or spaghetti worms or something else. i personally dont like bristle worm but other say they are good eating leftover food and dietritus. i do like spaghetti worms as they borrow in the sand and extend their tentacles to trap food. if you like to get rid of them some wrasse eat them, like the six line wrass, or maybe even some angels so it all depends what they are and what you want to do with them. good luck and happy reefing!!

| Some say they are dangerous to soft corals but I think they are the big ones that we call "gusano de fuego" in Puerto rico, those small ones don't seem to bother anything. I have some but they are less than an inch long. Fire worms (gusanos de fuego) are as big as six inches or more and they sting like you have no idea. As long as those stay small I don't think they could do any harm but help. happy reefing!!

| the worms are harmless and a free cleanup crew. an abundance of them would indicate an abundance of food. cut back on the feeding, and see less worms. i would be more concerned with that algae on the rock. another sign of excessive nutrients. cut back on the feeding. |

| Thank you for your comment. The green you are seeing is cheato(sp) in my tank. I don't have any fish just shrimps and a crab and my feeding is minimal. ![]() Last edited by icry166; 09-02-2009 at 10:22 PM.. |
