Default My 230 build

Here are some pics of my 230 build. It took about 2 weeks but was worth it.
These are my materials getting ready for the process:
Size = 5'x3'x2'tall
all four sides are Plexi G 3/4"
Euro Brace and Bottom is Plexi G 1/2"

First Weld

Second Weld

Third Weld

Next comes the Euro Brace

Finished Euro Brace

Quick Pause to examine inside welds

Cutout teeth for the external overflow

Water testing

The Stand

I will try to get a recent FTS , the tank has been up and running for 6 months now.

Wow, nice build thread, looks like a lot of great work went into it. So since you built it from scratch did you have any unexpected leak? Again very nice love to see the FTS since it has been up and running.

no leaks or any probs. it filled up and went to work. I did a quick cycle on it with TLC Saltwater and its been solid the whole time.It is so full of coral it looks like a big frag tank.

Nice custom DIY Brent, looks really good so far! You did exceptionally well on cutting out the teeth for the external overflow, how did you manage to do that so perfect?! Roto-Zip? Router?

It was a router. 3/8 size using a template 10 inches long and repeating it all the way down the tank. the euro was rough cut using a jigsaw then routered out the rest of the way. the corners were done with a 4 inch hole drill.
