Great Idea, is the PVC 1/4 " ? what about a idea of exterior pump running all the outlets? I think you can also run wave maker from the PVC running water back to your tank. Just a idea? Great Job.

PVC is 3/4" with 1/2" heads on the T's. Yeah I could get exterior pumps didn't want the plumbing sticking out of the tank. Built in overflows on it so I really didn't want to go drilling into the sides. Might build my next tank and try it.

Hi you mentioned about exterior pump and not wanting to see it. You probably already know you could have a refugium under your show tank and run the pump down there. Well I am out of your hair. Have a great day.

Nice setup Jester. I'm glad you posted this before I setup my 75g. Hope you don't mine, I plan on stealing some of your ideas. My 75g is similar to your 90g, it has the same in-tank overflow, lots of room in there...I was trying to think of what I can hide in there to improve circulation. Thanks for posting the idea...keep the pics coming, you probably have lots of other good ideas I could use.

So what is really going on below the tank...the rest of the tank looks so good I'm wondering what you have as far as a sump?

I don't want to be alarmist, and do not speak from personal experience, but be wary of the rio pumps. Maybe they are better now, but I've heard horror stories of some of the rio pumps rupturing and leaking oils into the tank. These may be the submersible pumps, not what you are using. Many people have lost the entire system.

I am using a AGA MegaSump 3 or something like that it is a wet/dry system. Using this until I have time to build the Sump/Refuge that I want. I will try to post some pics of my new corals soon and will include a couple of what I have under the tank.

Oh, and I missed the second part of your question. No I did not epoxy my rock together. Thank God, I actually just rearranged my rock 2 weeks ago and what a nightmare that would have been if it was epoxied. If you what to make sure that your structure is secure, I would recommend drilling holes and using cable ties to put it together that way you can always work with it later if need be.

Actually the tank has been up for a little over 2 months (not including 2 week cycle). I try to add my stock in balanced sets. I find that this reduces the fish showing tank domanence. So I usually add 3 - 4 fish at a time (this usually includes an invert or 2 depending on the stocking). I have not lost any fish (except to a mistake in trusting the LFS and buying a Red Lobster #@%*).

The Catalina's are a cooler water fish (68 - 76), but with research found that they acclimate well to warmer envrionments if brought in a proper temps and raised slowly. The Catalina's were in the second stocking set (Been there for over a month), they seem to be doing wonderfully and very happy in the tank. Always on a different rock or spot in the sand. It's like playing find Waldo.

You know I thought that seemed a little off too so I went back and checked my dates and the tank was purchased on 6/11/2007 and the first fish purchase was on 6/25/2007. So It has been up and running a little longer then the first post. Guess I was a little lazy in posting pics of the build.
