Default Finally up and running! with photos!!!!

Hi Everyone,
First thank you all for your endless advice, I am sure I will have many more questions to come. But for now you can all see my 55g tank up and running. We are now into week 2 and have passed the brown algae blooms and heading into the green bloom. The live rock (over 50lbs fiji, tonga and Hatti) is great a few tiny bristleworms, and a huge blue legged hermit 1" who is climbing over everything. The refugium/sump/skimmer set up was done by my LFS and it is wonderfully clean and simple (much better than I would have done) I didn't put in metal Hallides(sp?) but have 4 VHO bulbs that do a great job. I also have 2 powerheads in the tank for current. Quarintine tank is up and running and just a few more days from being ready for its first fish who hopefully will be clear and free around the same time as the main tank is ready to have them. Will post more as I progress.

Awesome hitchhiker. That looks to be an Electric Blue Hermit crab which goes for a nice price of 9 bucks. They are good for the reef too. I have one and plan on buying a few more here soon. BTW your reef set up looks nice and similar to mine in some ways. Keep it up.

Steven

Looks good. I like the rock arrangement. The plumbing looks very professional. Nice job.

Enjoy!

i would wait at least a month or two before putting fish in, you should start adding corals first.... is the best thing you can do becuz corals will let you know if there is something wrong with your water
