I have 2 Foxface and I love them. They come out every morning looking brown but perk up fast. They are beautiful. My Hippo sleeps under the same rock everynight. When it gets up in the morning they all get going. Kinda funny.

They all get along even when the seaweed clip goes up?

Great pics!
When did you add your Hippo tang? I want either a Hippo or a Purple tang for my tang and currently have a Foxface and 2 percula. I've heard how picky they are and was wondering on a good time to add?

And the two surviving Banggais have made it to their new home:

These two Banggais are aquacultured and have been fin-to-fin for the past three weeks while in quarantine. They are eating and acting normal, so no worries!

Also, i just bought a 20 L that I will be converting into a Bare Bottom sump. It will consist of the skimming section, three baffles, and the return section. I need to get the baffles cut sometime soon.

I bought DAP Aquarium Sealant 100% Silicone, from Home Depot last night to glue the baffles. Has anybody else used this product?

Thanks Bamaguy, I have seen your tank and it is really coming along as well! Unfortunately no worthy lights here as of yet! I think I'm going to hold out for 8x54W Teks.

I'm afraid I have some bad news. I came home from work last night to discover Spike, our maroon, was not doing so well. He was barely managing to swim and in fact the current had him pinned up against the glass. I noticed he seemed lethargic the past month and would eat like a mad man one feeding, and then other times showed no interest in food whatsoever.

Well, he got weaker and weaker last evening so I went in to put him out of his misery. Amazingly, as I went in with the net his friend, the Hippo Tang, quickly came up to him (despite the net!) and "kissed" him goodbye. Weirdest thing ever!

We had Spike the maroon with us since the very beginning and he's always been strong, so I was very surprised last night. I checked water chemistry as best as I could:

pH = 8.2
Nitrite = 0
Ammonia = between 0 and 0.25 (really difficult to gauge so I am erring on the high side)
Nitrate = 0 to 5 (idem)
SG = 1.021
Temp = 76.4

All other inhabitants seem to be just fine.

I'm a little late but sorry to hear about your Clownfish. Any updates on your tank? Mine is doing well and I plan on getting some new pics this weekend. I've been a little lazy on my forum surfing lately...

Thanks Matt.

I lost one of the two remaining Bangaii's. His fins got nipped pretty bad so I eventually took him out and let him heal in QT for 4 weeks. I re-introduced him along with a couple of other fish, and he recently faded. I think the remaining Bangaii is one mean son of a gun.

I also managed to lose a bloodshrimp. Hmmmm.

I also bought a pair of Firefish which have found a permanent hiding place under some LR in the back of the tank. For some reason my Hippo Tang thinks they are food and every time they pop their head out of their cave they get chased.

I also introduced a Kole Tang albeit with some reluctance. Of course, contrary to popular belief the two Tangs get along great! I was meticulous in introducing him (had the lights of for a couple days, re-arranged some of the rock-work, and taped a mirror to the tank).

Last night was an interesting one, as I JimW369, RyanG, and ILoveMash would tell you (BTW, if you are reading, thanks for your input guys). I decided to address a leaking bulkhead that I caused while re-working some of my plumbing. I also wanted to thoroughly clean my sump, pumps, and protein skimmer. In the process of doing so I managed to turn my living room into swimming pool and cause a leak in my sump. I also noticed static coming from the electrical socket as a result of the spill. Static electrical sockets are an adventurous phenomenon.

Anyways, I had to make a late night run to Home Depot to buy some sealant. I currently have the tank running with just Powerheads and will continue working on it tonight.

How is that for an update??!!!

I posted some pictures in ILoveMash's thread requesting pics, but should probably post them here also.

Wow!
Sounds like it's been rough. I hope everything works out and sorry to hear about the losses. Sounds like you have some other hobbiest close by which is nice though. I don't know anyone that is into saltwater where I live.
Hang in there. I had a leak show up after I filled the tank up, I put in a new GFI plug behind my sump after the tank was running and I've had several fish/shrimp take a flying leap of doom as well. I've also got an urchin who likes to randomly knock my corals off their rocks in the middle of the night. I guess if it didn't come with any problems it would be called freshwater

Actually, I needed some quick input on the fly and logged in to the new chat feature. It's a great way of working through pressing issues and socializing. Check it out if you haven't already.
