Default 75 gal DT, 149 gal system

So I will be starting my 75 gal build soon.....

I will have my 45 gal frag/prop tank and I have a 29 gal that I will be making a huge fuge out of all tied into one hope fully happy system, the frag & fuge tanks will set below the 75 gal. Here is a pic of the 75 gal tank that I picked up for $75.00

you can find info on the frag tank here......http://www.reefbuilders.com/forums/c...frag-tank.html

Once I begin the fuge build I will add a link.

Back to the 75....

I plan to have around 120 lbs of LS, Atleast 150 lbs of LR, MH lighting with PC antinics......

any suggestions on flow? thinking maybe moded MJ's

I have one suggestion.I would make the 45 gallon the fuge.I believe the fuge to be more important than the frag tank, and besides just how many frags do you plan on keeping? You should have no problem keeping 50 or more in the 29.My plan is for a 65 gallon main,a 40 gallon fuge at the same level as the main and 20 gallon sump under the main.Just think of all the cool critters you could keep in a 40 gallon fuge full of sea grass and deep sand bed.

well as of now I have 10 frags in the 45 frag tank and it has not been up to long, As far as to how many I plan to keep on any given time I would like to be able to have room for a mother colony of each frag, grow out room for the frags, then more room just so I can prepare for frag swaps, there are 2 active clubs with in an hour and halfs drive north or south of me that have good size swaps every 3 months.
The frag tank will also be a display under the 75, The 29 I have already has some baffles in it, I would just need to change one to fit in a new skimmer and the rest would be a DSB & cheato fuge.

Would a 29 gal fuge benifit a 120 gal display system?

If I had room I would be building a 8' x 4' x 12" frag tank

Had to place on hold for now X-mas for the 2 & 5 yr old put a damper on funds, Cant wait to get it drilled then get another 100 lbs or so of LR, atleast 100 LS,

I have a little more workto get stand together, Picking up a drilled 29 this weekend that will be used for a fuge.

Things will be slow untill after the holidays pass then I will be on it. I will try and get a decent pic of the stand up soon, all I have is my cell phone camera now due to a mishap with my digital. I want to be able to take & post pictures as I go thats another thing holding me back.

update.....Got my bits & bulkheads from salty depot on ebay or his other site is www.diamondtoolking.com Steve seems to be a customer service type guy. With my bits & bulks I got over 5 pages of tips & tricks for drealing glass!! I dont really think you will beat price much either.

Anyhow I placed my order xmas eve about 2am.... lmao I got 2 1.5" bulkheads & a bit to make a 1.5" hole
Owell I can use it for 3/4" returns, new bit should be here in few days.

I been working on parts of my overflow here is a pic of the drain pipe that will go inside the tank, 1.5"pvc 38" long about 450~500 1/4" holes will pull/skim water from surface, Top 1/4"~3/8"

Not out of the question, I will have room for 2 29gal tanks behind the stand on a short table.

LMAO, I noticed that fedex took there sweet time getting that overflow out of IL, You should have it by friday. I hate waiting for stuff in the mail, even as a ebay seller I track all my shipments daily when ever I have a sell. I picked up a complete engine for my boat was tracking it on fedex freight, I noticed that when it hit chicago IL which is a big terminal it was heading for NY or NJ cant remember which one, anyhow I called them and they caught it as it was being loaded on a truck!! talk about luck that saved days waiting for that 800lb beast.

Ok The bits didnt come again today, I emailed steve from salty depot he is a customer service guy like Ive stated in other post, Explaining to me that its been in usps's hand all this time. asking me what ( I ) would like to have done to fix situation all though it was out of his hands, not his fault, read his feedback on ebay explains it all (fast delivery).

USPS is just pushing my buttons now!! they wanna get something started all they gotta do is open the choke & pull the cord!!

What happened to my friend one time, is he ordered a remote control airplane and was gonna get in 2-3 days. well, a week goes by and it never comes. He calls the manufacterer and they said it got lost in the mail. So they send him a new one for free. He gets the new one in 3 days, and about a month later the OLD one shows up!

So then he had 2 for the price of one. And they were 500$ planes!!!

First hole I drilled, Went smooth this was my practice hole on my 45 gal frag tank. Frags are back in the DT for now, LR is in a bucket of Salt Water untill I get the 75 up.

I used some putty for a circle dam, poored water in and drilled stoping every 30-45 secs to let bit cool, more like keep it from heating up it never got warm. That was only picture I took, when I do the 75 gal I will find someone to record it for me so I can make a DIY video thread. its actually really easy I would say 3.5/10 on a scale if that.
