I have to disagree with mike but he can take it.Live rock is your natural biological filter.What science has determined is that at 1.5 pounds to the gallon you will have enough for a functional biological filter.100 pounds wont fill your tank to the choke level.As for flow around this much live rock?Try using 3 or even 4 small recirculation pumps instead of the pumps of the sunami 4000 class.Or maybe even a closed loop.

I have to admit, I am a little confused.
You can get hitchhikers off of a cured rock...crabs and worms. Someone send me an informative link as to what curing actually kills.

It's all about circulation. You can put less rock in a tank & if you don't have the proper circulation around & through it you are still going to get areas where waste will settle & collect.
Curing usually kills off any type of plant life, sponges, etc that may be attached to the outside of the rock.
