Default water changes

hello everyone, just curious how many water changes everyone does?..do u do weekly? monthly?...i have my tank running about 11 months, and the past 5 months, i been doing a 15 gallon water change every 4 weeks or so...my tank is 180 gallons...this seems to be working..but im curious on what others opinions are that have had their tanks running for longer then mine...i read one book that says i should be doing weekly water changes, and others that say less is more....some say vacum up the sand to clean it, others say just take out water and dont disturb the sand....i pretty much just been winging it..lol...anyway just wanted to say hi , haven't posted in awhile, and was curious about everyones water change patterns.....

Default Re: water changes

I think most people do 10% weekly or biweekly water changes. The number one reason for this is to replenish the trace elements that are used by the things that live in your tank.
