Default 55g and 40g dt 135g system

So I have been keeping an eye on Johns 149g system thread, and thought I should make one too.

So, here it is.

I started with just a 55g and 20g sump.

then I got the frag tank going...

Then I thought how sweet would it be to have a seagrass tank!???!!!!

So I started to build one, starting with the stand.

Then I thought I should loop the seagrass tank and the frag tank together! So with a few modifications to the stand I added the frag tank underneath.

As I was filling the 40g breeder with water, I realized how heavy it was and decided to move it in the basement in the next room over from my 55g.

This actually worked out quite well becase with a drill bit and another 20-30 feet of pvc pipe I will be able to loop all the tanks together.

This is how I plan on looping them all together.

I am currently in the process of drilling the holes in the wall for the pvc pipes to go through and will add pics when I am done.

I am assuming refu means refugium?....and yes and no. My seagrass tank will be the 40g breeder which is the tank thats on top of my home made stand, so basically the seagrass tank is like a large refugium.

Nope...I am already thinking of how I can incorporate a 10 or 20g tank as a grow out tank for the cheato then sell it. Also, a brine shrimp tank, a phytoplankton tank...aye aye aye...it really doesnt ever end!

Some more pics of my 40g breeder with the DSB.

I saw Kevin W. post about being bored on sat night and he took a bunch of pics of his tank, and it motivated me to do the same thing.

In this pic, I had to scrape away all the coraline algae so I could get some side shots.

And in this pic, My sea cucumbers have been breeding in my tank, so Here is the best shot I was able to get of a little baby, maybe 1/2" long.

I just realized how cloudy the water is, and just wanted to let you all know its because I was scraping all the coralline off the glass and now its floating around in the water.

Looks nice Elliot. Just make sure when you hook your tanks together that when the power goes out, all of the water doesn't drain to one sump tank so it doesn't overflow.

Drilling some 1/8" holes in the return lines will save a lot of heartache.

All over that! I will basically have 2 "sumps". The current sump that I will change to a magrove tank with a faily low water level, and the 20g frag tank that will only be about 3/4 filled with water.

It still looks the same except the wate is clear. I am waiting for a return pump and an aqualifter pump so I finally have the water flowing from tank to tank. Once the pumps come I will get my lighting then a mated pair of yellowhead jawfish.

By breeder tank, that means it is extra long front to back.
