part of his health may be due to old age?? He's at least 7 years old

That poor fish.
It was like that when you got him?
How is his appetite?

He's very small if he is really 7 years old. A yellow tang that age should be at least 6" long.

That's one lucky tang, I'll bet he's glad you took him home and bringing him back to health! He does look better, am interested to see how he looks in another week! Please post another pic then!

Stunted growth from such a small tank....malnutrition...wh o knows. Tanks should be MUCH larger and need a larger tank than a 45 gallon

Nice to see he is doing better.
I want a Tang for my tank and was suprised that the Yellows were $50 at the LFS for a medium. I guess that Hawaiian law kicked up the price. Last time I priced them they were $20 for that size yellow.

Cool, I would be tempted to soak food in a vitamin supplement...freeze dried food soaks up vitamins well. Just a thought.

Some people just should not have fish!

I use Kent Zoe...but I think it might be a better to try Selcon, it has essential fatty acids. This fish needs all of the help it can get!
