Default 14g Biocube build

I figured I would make a build thread for my biocube. I've kept pretty good progress of the tank so far and thought I would share . This biocube was made because of my 20 gallon long crashing as most of you know. Everything that survived was put in the tank. The tank started with a GSP rock, multi zoo rock, hairy mushroom rock, and one female true perc. This tank has really come far from when I first started it and I'm really proud of it.

Here is the tank in its start:

The first FTS I took of the tank:

I didn't do any structural mods at all. All I've done is take the media filter out and put the oceanic skimmer in its place, Tossed the bioballs and put LR rubble, upgraded the return pump to a micro jet 606, and added a hydor flow on the return.

The skimmer works well enough. It works great for a 30 dollar skimmer. Gives me a dark tea color skimmate and it keeps my nitrates and such in check so gets the job done .

im sorry what are you asking tommy? If your asking how much I paid for it, it was 200. Thats just the tank alone the sand rock and fish are not included in that. It makes me feel better about my "hobby" or addiction if I don't keep track of how much I spend lol. I could figure it out if you really want to know but I prefer not too lol

Ya pretty good price. I over paid for mine and I know it. When I bought my 14g it was to save the rest of my coral and fish from a tank crash. It was sunday and the only LFS that was open was the one that over charges (go figure).

i've been doing some research, and prices for hardware have gone way up. it may be cheaper for me just to get a few of the biocubes, truth be told.

Logan- Love the shots of the tank- thanks for sharing!
I really like the frogspawn- it's very pretty- I have my eye on a purple one I am planning on getting.
QUESTION: the biocubes- are they rather easy to maintain once set up? That is not trying to be a stupid question- everything is easy once it is set up properly. I meant - I had heard the smaller tanks are harder to maintain levels - do you ever have any problems with that?
Thanks.

Well Michelle, my Cube is very self sustaining. Parameters all stay within proper ranges. Only thing I dose is calcium, nitrates are always below 5ppm, and ph/alk stay where they need to be.
